SSD Coronavirus Updates

Coronavirus Image

In light of the sharp rise of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana, the Louisiana Schools for the Deaf and Visually Impaired will move to virtual learning starting Monday, Jan. 10 through the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday on Jan. 17. Our goal is to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Teachers and faculty will still come into the office and can work remotely from their office/classroom. We will keep everyone updated as we learn more information about the number of cases and who in our schools are affected.

We thank you for your patience and flexibility as we continue to navigate these challenging circumstances. If you have any questions, please contact our communications team at ssdcommunications@la.gov.

For any questions about virtual learning and schedule, please contact your child’s school office.
