We achieved our 2nd highest School Performance Score in more than 20 years.
Our Pre-K earned an EXCELLENT rating again.
We’ve seen high growth on NWEA MAP across multiple grade levels and content areas, beating the national norm for multiple cohorts.
We’ve been expanding dual credit opportunities so our students graduate with options.
Attendance is improving and instruction is strengthening.
And most importantly—our students are learning, growing, and believing in themselves! The best is yet to come.
From expanding our CTE programming to enhancing our library programming and book selections to increasing bilingual training for staff, to building partnerships with universities, community members, and Deaf organizations—we are so excited to see where LSD is going in 2026!

This growth reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and the powerful partnership we share with families. Congratulations, War Eagles! 🦅💚

Last week, we celebrated the incredible Educational Support Team that keeps the Louisiana School for the Deaf moving forward every single day — our instructional coaches, counselors, ASL coordinators and specialists, therapists, transportation coordinator, and other support staff who serve with dedication and heart. Just a few of these team members are pictured here.
From supporting teachers and students to coordinating services, building bilingual access, providing emotional support, and keeping our campus running smoothly — you are the backbone of our school! 🦅

Our Louisiana School for the Deaf Pre-Kindergarten Program has been rated EXCELLENT by the Louisiana Department of Education! 🌟
We are so proud of our youngest War Eagles, their families, and our incredible staff who make early language and learning come alive every single day.
